Hey Just an Idea

I'm not really sure where to put this but here it is.

Hey Chirs, I was just reading on the Metamor City Wiki about the plans for the Anthology to be of MK2K and I had an Idea for the for the section of the Prelude called Prologue. I was thinking that you should do more than one of those ideas. If you want to span as much history as it looks like you do than you should do a combination and maybe you could also use something that looks like you know an encyclopedia reference... I don't know that could just cause problems if you use the fictional history book presentation...

You could give it meaning in the world of Metamor by making it someone going to class at Empire University and then doing his/her homework afterward... just ideas.

Interesting thought, Iliar! It makes me think of the phony press clippings that White Wolf uses in the front matter of their RPGs. It's definitely a possibility to think about, but we'll have to be careful not to front-load the book with too much background material. One thing that Metamor City has taught me is that people can catch on to the setting fairly quickly even without knowing Metamor's deeper back-story, so I want to set it up in a way that people can refer back to it later for details but needn't study it rigorously before they jump into the stories. I still haven't decide quite what that's going to look like, though, so I'm still open to ideas...

"Zombie guards, seize him!"  Tell me that's not fun to say.

Then have you ever thought of adding the section on as an appendix to the main body of the work. That kind of sounds like what you trying to explain. One thing I learned from the format that Tolkien used (i.e. all this material that you're putting in the front he put as appendices) is that people are able to read the stories and love them and never open the appendix. And then there are those who just love the place so much that they have to find out everything possible about the place.

For them we add the handy appendix in the back which covers all the info you have in the front of the or prelude. This way people have the access that want and people don't have to read it who don't want to.

On the other hand people do need to know what the back story is in a finite way so you could have a few of the excerpts of history at the beginning and some stories from Metamor Keep (probably your own) at the beginning.

Just some input. What you said has really dawned on me in my own writing lately and I have been changing my formatting of my sagas lately. Thank you for your time.
